With downtown Los Angeles undergoing an incredible renaissance, the Ace Hotel, housed in the old United Artists Theater, is a definite destination for both visitors and locals. My favorite time of the day there is a weekend brunch, either at LA Chapter or Upstairs. LA Chapter has a more extensive menu, where Upstairs is more about small bites. My favorite aspect of Ace is the eclectic attention to detail - the worn leather chairs, bold typography, the sustainable silverware at Upstairs. Everything comes together for a satisfying experience visually and sensorially.
